About the Owner
Darlene
Uptagrafft grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and married Raymond Uptagrafft in 1980. They moved to Butler, Alabama in
1981. Darlene has cut hair since 1977 and became a licensed cosmetologist in 1982. Darlene
attended Beauty Centre School in Meridian, Mississippi. Darlene has attended many color and highlighting classes over
the years from varying professional companies. Darlene has completed the Redken Color Specialist program. The Salon currently
uses Swartkofpt Professional Hair Color. Darlene's latest education includes 3 classes on the dry hair
cutting technique from the late John Sahag of New York. You can learn more on the Sahag haircut on our site. Darlene has owned and operated her own salon since 1983 in Butler Alabama.
Darlene discovered beautiful Guntersville, Alabama in 2000 after crossing the river bridge on her way home from attending a natural supplement seminar in Scottsboro, Alabama. That was it!!!. They moved here Feburary 2001. Raymond owns A-1 Plumbing, Electrical and More. If you need any help in these areas call 256-293-7902.
Darlene & Raymond have 4 Children: John, 32 (lives in Huntsville, Al. and is attending college. ) ; Cecelia, 29 (Live in Wisconsin and is a RN ); Brantley, 27 (Lives in Ga. ); Weston, 24 (Lives in Guntersville and works on the Arsenal. Brantley and Weston attended Guntersville High School.
